The day after Christmas we typically get together with my mom's side of the family, the
Pelleritos. They're a wild and crazy bunch.
My big Italian family. This is most but definitely not all of us!
Three things you can count on at the
Pellerito Christmas: 1) A reenactment of the nativity by the kids 2) A big family performance 3) A puppet show for the little ones. Thanks to my Aunt Kathy for organizing this production each and every year. Above is the reenactment of the nativity. Emilia even had the leading role this year.
Angels...
hmm....
This and the following pictures are from the Twelve Days of Christmas. Why just sing the song when you can act it out too? Clearly, we have no shame, but we do have a good time! Above is my almost-90-year-old Grandpa as the Partridge in a Pear Tree.
Seven swans a-swimming...
Three French hens (note the
berets)...
I think these guys were the Lords a-Leaping...
Nine "ladies" dancing...
Enter the maids a-milking....
Carl really wanted to partake, but he was on baby duty...
The little ones always get a big kick out of the puppet show. In fact, when Lily had to write about her family's holiday traditions, she chose to write about the
Pellerito puppet show.
Nick and William watching the show
Look at those handsome guys!
As a general rule, we like to be as close to one another as possible :)
Taking in the show
Seriously, could you get any cuter?

Adorable! I love all these pictures! So sorry to hear about your kidney stone and your other family medical issues! My new year's resolution should be to call you more! ;) xoxo!
