6 month check-up

All is well in the world of William. His current stats are: 18 lbs. 9 oz. (71%), 28.75 in. (>97%), and head circumference 30%. So, he has remained fairly stable (percentage-wise) since his early days.
A couple of quick updates: William is sleeping beautifully. We started giving him formula before bed (between 7:00 - 7:30 pm), and he typically sleeps through the night until 7:00 - 7:30 am. This works out really well for our schedule. So thank you, William! He currently takes 2-3 naps per day. If he takes long ones (like yesterday morning when he slept for 3 hours), then he takes just two. If they are shorter (usually around an hour and a half), then he takes three. Much, much better than past months when he was a cat-napper.
As far as eating goes, William is a huge fan! He eats everything we give him and usually is not too happy when he finishes. We went ahead with all kinds of food from the beginning (using the four-day wait rule between new foods, of course). He has currently had: sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, squash, applesauce, pears, plums, pumpkin, apricots, green beans, peas, oatmeal, and rice cereal. Up next are: mangoes, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, spinach, and peaches. He currently eats twice per day (lunch and dinner time). We will probably add in breakfast sometime in the next couple months.
Overall, William is a healthy and very happy baby, and we couldn't be happier.

Girls day out

Yesterday we went to my cousin Maria's wedding shower. It was a wonderful afternoon with some of the greatest women ever. Congratulations, Maria and Dan. We can't wait for the wedding!

Soccer time!

Lily started soccer practice/games (I think it's all the same at this age) on Sunday. It was a beautiful day, and we all really enjoyed the afternoon. Lily did a great job dribbling and putting the ball in the goal. She's certainly not the most aggressive little one, but she stayed in there and got control of the ball a couple times. Overall, a pretty good first time out. I think she had a good time and felt pretty special in all her soccer gear.

Happy sunny days

Lily loves to play outside when the weather is nice, and it has been oh-so-nice this past week. How quickly we have changed to bright, sunny days after the seemingly endless cold, cloudy days of winter! We have been in the backyard every afternoon, and I can't even remember how we spent our afternoons before. Lily's play inevitably involves picking flowers, leaves, weeds, grass, etc and making some sort of pie or cake. That is, when she's not digging up worms.

An Easter Story

Once upon a time, there was a man and a woman. They got together and had four of the nicest, most caring, loving, smartest, greatest kids ever known (so I hear).

Then the kids grew up, married, and started families of their own.

First, there was the Meyer family.

Then the Kissocks.

The Deetzes.

And the Corrs.

And, just like that, those wonderful kids - the apple of their parents' eyes - were replaced by something even better: grandchildren. :)

"L" Girl Power

We stopped in Indianapolis to see Carl's cousin, Roger, and his family before heading home. Lily enjoyed a fun-filled day with Lucy and Lainey.

Here are the girls prior to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt in the morning.

In the afternoon, we headed to the Children's Museum in Indy. Here the girls are in a mock plane headed to Egypt.

They've arrived!

All the girls seemed to really enjoy the dino area.

Here is Lily digging for dinosaur bones.
Not that there was any doubt, but Lily slept really well on the way home after her day of new adventures! :)

Grandmas

A little over a week ago, Mee-maw came to visit us in St. Louis. Right after Mee-maw's visit, we left for a tour de Indiana to see both of Carl's grandmas as well as Carl's extended family on the Deetz side, including aunts, uncles and cousins. Lily was an absolutely amazing traveller on this jam-packed journey, and William didn't do too bad for a 5-month-old! We had a wonderful time on this trip. Thanks to everyone for their great hospitality. We especially enjoyed introducing baby William to everyone!
