The Homestead Resort

The next portion of our trip was a mini family vacation within a vacation. Carl, Lily, and I headed up to northern Michigan together to check out some of the attractions in Glen Arbor. We stayed at The Homestead Resort which was really quite nice. Unfortunately, their peak season had not started so half of the resort was not open yet. Luckily, it didn't really affect our plans at all. We were able to do all of the things on our list which included a stop at the Cherry Republic, visiting Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, and seeing Lake Michigan.

The view from our room

We stayed in a section of the resort called "Fiddler's Pond". Lily got a kick out of the statue of the fiddle-playing frog.
