Learning the tools of the trade

Sunday was a busy day for us. First, we had a "take your family to work" morning. Carl had to do a few things at work so Lily and I went along. It was a good opportunity to show Lily the equipment since no one else was there. We got to see lots of slides with their cool multi-headed microscopes. Then we headed to Chuck-E-Cheese for some kiddie fun and rounded out the day with a birthday party for my niece and Goddaughter, Abby.

These are all great pictures, Kathleen! I love the one of Lily and Carl looking in the microscope - precious! But, are you also exerting your influence of the social sciences? I mean, balance is important in a child's life! And how very sociological of you - observing her interactions with other children. :) I enjoyed these photos a lot - you guys are busy!

That is so funny that you mention it because I almost wrote about how undervalued social skills can be, particularly joining in play with peer groups.
And, the picture with Lily and Carl is one of my favorites. I get all teary-eyed thinking how she will appreciate this picture in the future and maybe even keep it framed somewhere on her desk...I'm still the ultimate Pieces dreamer :)
