We started hanging balloons in Lily's room for her birthday last year. We tried to do it again this year so she would wake up to them in the morning. It was a comical process to say the least with Carl falling on me and the bed and waking Lily up in the process. I think she still got a kick out of it though.
William, Emmy and I tried to surprise Lily with balloons and flowers at school during lunchtime. It turns out that the surprise was on us because Lily was in the nurse's office. She was not feeling well so we just took her home with us. She didn't feel quite herself for a couple days, but I think the excitement of the birthday weekend kept her going through it all!
