Thanksgiving 2010 - Indiana

This year we headed to Indiana to visit the Deetz side of the family for Thanksgiving. We always have such a nice time there and wish we could visit more often. The Thanksgiving meal was held at the very lovely home of Carl's grandma's niece.

The guys kept William entertained with a wadded up napkin that served as a ball...hey, whatever works!

Carl's Grandma giving Carl's cousin Livy bunny ears.

Carl's uncle Randy giving William bunny ears (it runs in the family). William is being held by Carl's brother, Zander, who is currently deciding which college to attend next year!! (I think that I first met Zander when he was about 5 so this is a little crazy to me.)

After the Thanksgiving mid-day meal, we had a birthday party in honor of Lily's 5th and Lainey's 4th birthday. My favorite part of this picture is Lucy blowing out the candles from the back -- the secret weapon in case the younger ones can't get 'er done.

Lucy and Lainey opening presents with their mom and dad, Nadine and Roger. Lucy's 6th birthday is right around the corner in January!

Livy is also celebrating a birthday on 12/12!

The next generation of Deetz women -we are expecting great things from these little ones!!

Great Grandma is so much fun - she really knows how to get a party started!

Loving some silly family time

Watch what else I can do with a strainer...

Lily is constantly setting up little play scenes with various decorations and what-not around the house. We find very meticulously laid-out piles of stuff around our house on a daily basis. I often wonder what this suggests about her personality.

A great picture of William with his Great Grandma

And another one!

A fun family shot. When taking pictures like this, I'm always struck by the awareness of the missing person in this picture, Carl's Grandpa. But, we know that he is always there in spirit. I am also aware of a certain familiarity in our baby boy's blue eyes.
